On this page I will display contributions from members and families who have enjoyed up to 50 years of Family fun at the best swimming and fishing lake in Ohio.

Our History

50 Years ago a group of residents of Silver Lake Village developed Crystal Lake as a recreational facility to be enjoyed by all of the residents and not just those whose lots happened to be located in the "estates"  The property was acquired and the beach and docks were built for all members to enjoy.  That tradition has supported this facility for the past 50 years and we would like to celebrate and document the legacy of that forethought on this web page.

I would like to ask for contributions of written memories, photographs, or any documentation of the history of the lake.  Please contact me at webmaster@crystallakeclub.net to provide any materials that your family may have.  I will reproduce and return anything you can contribute.  My time at the lake has only been the last 10 of the 50 year history and I plan to try to hang around for the centennial (lifespans are increasing).  I hope all the families of the area can enjoy another 50 years at beautiful Crystal Lake.

So however many years you have been here please provide me with some photos and stories so that we can all share this beautiful natural area and the efforts to maintain it as a family natural area over the past half century.

Note: In both of these photos The old Clubhouse for the SLCC is located off of Silver Lake Boulevard between Crystal Lake and Silver Lake.  The old clubhouse looked across the lake from the South East opposite of what it does today.
